Overview

This compound is a synthetic small molecule belonging to the diarylthioethers class and is an adenine derivative. It was developed as an experimental inhibitor of heat shock protein HSP90 (including HSP90-alpha and its yeast homolog HSP82). The molecule binds to the ATP-binding site of HSP90, inhibiting its chaperone function. This mechanism disrupts the folding and stability of client proteins involved in cell growth and survival pathways—making it a potential candidate for anticancer drug development. However, there are no known clinical trials or approved indications for this compound as of now[1][2][4][5].
